STEP 1: ASSESSMENT

The installation process starts with determining the type of concrete you have depending on its

  • Moisture Content

  • Structural Condition

  • Hardness

Determining these factors will tell us how to properly prep and prepare a floor for install.

STEP 2: FLOOR PREP

When it comes to floor prep going the cheapest route usually becomes the most expensive route in the long run. Our process is to diamond grind floors which will extend the life of the floor significantly by providing the greatest adhesion possible. Not only does it remove stains, surface damage, and expose any cracks, it will also open the pours of the concrete up allowing the product to penetrate into the substrate for long lasting adhesion. Floor grinders are hooked up to vacuums to capture dust and debris.

STEP 3: CONCRETE REPAIR

Prior to installing, all cracks, pitting, and damage will be repaired. The repair material is applied in liquid form so it can properly adhere to the concrete and fill any cracks and voids unseen. In a matter of minutes it is ready to regrind, fully cured and 2X stronger than concrete.

STEP 4: Vacuum

For proper adhesion absolutely all dust must be removed, most coatings fail due to improper adhesion often from uncollected dust and debris. All uncollected dust from grinding will be vacuumed and disposed of.

STEP 5: BASECOAT APPLICATION

We start by using a small amount of our base coat, a 100% solids self-priming pure polyurea, to cut in all the edges around the floor. Once this is done, we mix and pour our primary coating onto the floor in a line and use a roller to spread the material in an even manner to achieve the desired thickness.   We repeat the mixing and rolling process until the whole surface is covered completely.

STEP 6: BROADCAST

Depending on the floor system we'll then either apply vinyl flake, sand, quartz, or stone. We then broadcast onto the wet coating covering the floors in it's entirety. This method of over broadcasting ensures that the floor is completely covered, leaving it uniform in color and texture.

Once the basecoat is fully cured we “cut” and “scrape” any loose or vertically standing flakes. In most applications, we scrape the floor from front to back and also side-to-side to ensure we have hit all angles of the chip. This produces a nice even texture across your entire floor.

STEP 7: CLEAR COAT APPLICATION

After the floor is prepped, coated, broadcasted, scraped, and vacuumed, we can start the final step – the application of our polyaspartic Polyurea UV stable top coat. The mixed product is poured directly onto the floor and squeegeed to spread the coating to the desired thickness. It is then back rolled north and south. This takes out any lines left behind by the squeegee and leaves a fine, glossy, clear coat finish over the entire floor.
